Non-Diagnostic Disclaimer

At Cedar 4D Ultrasound, our scans are non-diagnostic. This means that:

  • Our scans are for bonding and keepsake purposes only. They allow you and your family to enjoy seeing your baby, watching their movements, and capturing beautiful images and videos.

  • We do not provide medical opinions or diagnostic information about your baby’s health, growth, or development.

  • We do not replace medical ultrasounds ordered by your doctor or midwife.

All clients must continue to have their regular pregnancy care with a qualified healthcare professional (doctor, midwife, or specialist Sonographer).

During your appointment, if we happen to see something that looks unusual or concerning, we cannot diagnose it. Instead, we may recommend that you follow up with your healthcare provider for further assessment.

By booking an appointment at Cedar 4D Baby Ultrasound, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Our scans are elective (your choice, not a medical requirement).

  • The images and videos are intended as a keepsake only.

  • Our services are not medical, diagnostic, or a substitute for professional healthcare.

In summary: Cedar scans are designed to give you memories, not medical answers. Please always rely on your doctor, midwife, or qualified healthcare provider for medical advice and care during pregnancy.

By booking an appointment with Cedar 4D Baby Ultrasound, you acknowledge and accept that our scans are non-diagnostic.

Session Quality

The quality of your ultrasound images and videos depends on a variety of natural factors, many of which are outside of our control. While Cedar 4D Ultrasound uses advanced technology and every effort will be made to achieve clear results, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes (such as perfect full-face images).

Factors that may affect image quality include:

  • Gestational age:

    • Earlier scans (before 20 weeks) show more full-body movements but less facial detail.

    • Later scans (28–32 weeks) often provide the clearest facial images, but space becomes limited after 34 weeks, making imaging more difficult.

  • Baby’s position: If your baby is facing the placenta, your back, or has their hands/feet covering their face, imaging may be limited.

  • Placenta location: An anterior placenta (positioned at the front of the womb) can sometimes reduce visibility of baby’s features.

  • Amniotic fluid levels: Adequate fluid in front of baby’s face is essential for clear imaging. Staying well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment can improve results.

  • Maternal body type (BMI): More tissue between the ultrasound probe and the baby can affect the sharpness and clarity of images.

What we do to optimise your session:

  • Our sonographers may ask you to change position, roll onto your side, or gently move to encourage baby to shift.

  • We allow time to give your baby the best chance of moving into a favourable position.

  • If conditions on the day prevent us from obtaining suitable images, we may offer a complimentary or discounted rescan (subject to gestational age and availability).

Every pregnancy and every scan is unique. While we’ll always do our very best to capture beautiful images, results may vary depending on baby’s position, fluid levels, and other natural factors. By booking with Cedar 4D Baby Ultrasound, you understand and agree that specific outcomes can’t be guaranteed.
